The team at Retreat Design are passionate about creating beautiful spaces in your home and are committed to providing you a service that is second to none.

Steve Johnson: Director

Steve is the owner of Retreat Design and has been at the helm since he commenced the business in 2007.

Steve launched Retreat Design when he saw there was a real gap in the market for beautiful kitchen and bathroom products. Steve could see that the market relied too heavily on locally made cabinetry and that home renovators and builders in WA needed the opportunity to be able to use some of the gorgeous products coming out of Europe.

Steve loves everything to do with building and design, having managed many residential projects through his career. 

Denny McCrisken: Kitchen and Bathroom Designer

Denny has had a long and wonderful career in kitchen and bathroom design and interior design and brings over 20 years experience to each project she works on.

Denny loves to create perfect spaces and has a particular passion for colour. Denny will work with you to create a colour palette for not only your new kitchen or bathroom, but also your entire renovation or new build project.

Existing clients that have worked with Denny simply love what she does.

Josh Pretorious: Project Manager and Cabinet Maker

Josh is our project manager extraordinaire and assists with the installation and project management of our jobs. A cabinet maker by trade, Josh has over ten years experience in the industry and his level head and eye for detail make him a perfect compliment to the team.

Catherine Johnson: Administrator

Catherine is Steve’s wife and is the one who keeps the team at Retreat Design on track. Catherine’s background is in HR and has worked largely for multi-nationals over the course of her career. Catherine brings a focus on detail and is the one who develops the processes and systems that underpin the daily operations of the business.
